Neolithic Settlement in Pastasel

The Early Neolithic settlement of the village of Pastasel is located southwest of the village and is known to the local inhabitants by the name “Arat e Demës”. The settlement is on the right side, at the edge of the village stream, on flat terrain sloping towards the east. It should be said that above this settlement, over an area of about 20 ha, a very scattered settlement of the Roman period has been recorded.
During the survey of the terrain, in the company of Mejdi Krasniqi, who stated that besides many tiles and various bricks of the Roman period he had also found a stone axe.
During the survey various fragments of medium and coarse ceramics of the Early Neolithic were collected. The presence at this settlement of impresso ware and monochrome red ceramics makes us think that we are dealing with a settlement from an earlier phase of the Early Neolithic.
