Monastery of Zoçishtë

The Monastery of Zoçishtë, which is also known as the Monastery of the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian, is located in the village of Zoçishtë, about 5 km southeast of the town of Rahovec.
The monastery was built in the 14th century, on the ruins of an early Christian church of the Byzantine period. During recent research, traces and remains of late antique gravestones, namely of the 4th century, were discovered, as well as traces of pottery fragments from the late Roman period (3rd-4th century). The first written sources about this place of worship are found in the chrysobull of Stefan Dečani of the year 1327.
