The site is located in the place called “Pozhig” in the village of Bellacërkë (Fortesë). It includes the area between the village school and the houses located opposite it on the western side, as well as the area in front of the local office, between the road and the meadow above the village called Listenoll. In the first decade of the 1960s of the 20th century, archaeological excavations were carried out at this site, which resulted in the discovery of a settlement of the Roman period, with material belonging to the 1st-4th centuries. Today the village road and the sewage canal have been built over this site.
Also in the village of Bellacërkë there are other places where traces of foundations and typical ceramics of the Roman period have been found. In the place with the toponym “brinjë” wall foundations and ceramic finds were found. This place in the west of the village is a gentle hill slope with an area of 2-3 ha. Many ceramic fragments were found there, such as bowls, cups, jars, vessels typical of the late Roman period – terra sigillata, etc. Likewise, in the places called “pakidol” and in the toponym “Kodra e Zekës” Roman ceramic fragments have been encountered. The whole village appears to have been inhabited in the Roman period and then continued in later periods as well.
