The Church of St. Nicholas in Hoçë e Madhe is located at the cemetery outside the village. The church was built in the 14th century, and its interior continued to be painted until 1345, when the nun Marta, mother of the leader Gradislav Sushenica, was buried in it, as stated on the gravestone. The monument represents immovable cultural heritage of exceptional importance. It is presumed that the monument was built by Gradislav's parents in the 14th century. The church is a single-nave building with a semicircular vault, with a three-sided apse on the outside and a semicircular apse on the inside. The wall between the narthex and the naos no longer exists, as it was removed at some point. Only on the west wall has a part of the original fresco been preserved, which according to its style belongs to the time of Dushan's kingdom.
The church was renovated in the 16th century, and at that time it was painted again inside, with biblical figures added to it. Conservation work on the frescoes was carried out in 1970-1975. The monument is under the protection of the state of Kosovo and is of great importance in completing the mosaic of the cultural heritage of the village of Hoçë e Madhe.
