Ruins of the Church of St. Luke in Hoçë e Madhe

Gërmadhat e Kishës së Shën Llukës në Hoçë të Madhe

The ruins of the Church of St. Luke are in one of the old graveyards in the centre of the village of Hoçë e Madhe. Only the side walls, the north wall and the south wall, remain of the building. However, in the surviving walls two phases of construction can be seen, as well as the remains of two layers of mural painting. According to the fragments of mural paintings, it can be established that the church was built in the 14th century, while the second phase of construction took place at the end of the 16th century.
